Chapter 3: 14
Practical Excerpts

Wait in the presence of the Lord to get Divine help. And come with confidence to the throne of grace, in order to receive mercy and find help in the time of need.

Search for the promises of God for today. Meditate on them in your heart and in your mind throughout the day. Do not allow the enemy or people to rob you of your joy and strength. But hide God’s Word in your heart.

Know that yesterday's strength is not good for today, and the strength of today is not sufficient for tomorrow. Ask for aid today, every day.

Be filled with faith concerning the promises of the Lord. Say “Let God be true and every man a liar,” including me.  Combine the Word with faith. For the word which they heard did not profit God's people, not being mixed with faith in their hearts (Hebrews 4: 2).

Do not grieve the Spirit of God inside you with your stubbornness, and do not quench the Spirit with your careless disregard. But God will strengthen you with might through His Spirit in your inner being.  (Ephesians 3: 16)

Be patient and wait for the Lord in response to your prayers.  Maybe the Lord will act slowly in His response to you, but He will not delay, but will certainly hasten it in its time (Isaiah 60: 22).

Expect that Lord’s response in our fears may not change our circumstances or lighten our responsibilities, but will maximize His power within you

Be single-minded by your dependence on the Lord, and do not rely on yourself or others. Do not be double-minded, because He will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in Him. (Isaiah 26: 3).

Trust that the time spent waiting on the Lord is not lost time, but is time well spent, time for education and training. Learn from the wait and during the wait.

Wait for the Lord’s return every day. Let this hope encourage your heart – for all that we are afraid of here will certainly not be there.

Prayer
O Lord, teach me how to wait for You.
Teach me that waiting for you is the secret to renewal of strength and blessing, because they that wait upon you shall renew their strength.

O Lord, I do not need to change my circumstances but to renew my strength.
I want to have the help from on high in Your presence.
I want to have mercy and find grace to help in the time of need at the throne of Your grace.

O Lord, Help me, by the power of Your Spirit, in my inner being.
Encourage me, strengthen me within, to bear my responsibilities and face the pressures of my life.
Let me acclaim from the heart: I can do all things through Christ who me strengthens me.
